Hey! My name is Sharon Sturgess, owner and chief designer of Event Flowers by Sharon. I am the wife of Stan and mother of Erin, Rebekah and Matthew. I have always loved flowers, with my earliest memories going back to helping my grandmother plant daylilies and iris in her perennial beds. I was often found in the yard cutting whatever was in bloom and bringing it in to put in a bud vase on our kitchen table.

My first job was at a local flower shop where I processed cut flowers and took care of blooming and green plants. I quickly developed a love for all things botanical and began seeking ways to learn more about the art of floral design. I have spent many years in and out of the floral industry while raising my children and developing other interests in art. As my nest emptied, I felt God’s leading to pursue my floral interest more fervently, and Event Flowers by Sharon became a reality in 2014.

My design style is open and airy. I love to use locally sourced flowers and greens, cutting many from my own garden to give my arrangements a natural, garden-like feel.

Located centrally in western NC, Event Flowers by Sharon is a floral shop specializing in artfully arranged flowers for special events. I especially love weddings and parties. I delight in listening to my clients and capturing their vision, working hard to bring that vision to life. Event Flowers by Sharon is dedicated to  making your floral dreams a reality.
